Sergio L. Mendez

Sergio is a founding partner of the Law Offices of Mendez & Mendez and has over 35 years of experience practicing Probate, Guardianship, and Real Property Law. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1985 and practiced with his late father and co-founder of the firm for over 15 years. Sergio is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer rating standard, and has handled hundreds of cases across the spectrum of civil litigation.

Sergio graduated from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts in 1984. He served as President of the Cuban American Bar Association in 1999 and on its Board of Directors for fifteen years. He currently serves on CABA’s Pro Bono Foundation Board of Directors. Sergio has been licensed for over twenty years by the U.S. Department of Treasury – Office of Foreign Assets Control, as one of the few attorneys licensed to handle Cuban asset control regulations and travels frequently to Cuba to represent Cuban heirs in U.S. Probate proceedings. Sergio has also served as a professor at Florida International University, teaching Wills, Trusts, and Estates.
